First of all, It's important that you read our Care Guide for your new extensions
How much hair do I need for a full head?
We would recommend a minimum of two (16"-18" inches), but preferably three (20"-24" inches) or four bundles (26"-28" inches) for a full head of weave. Lou wears three bundles of hair for a full head of length 20"x1 and 22"x2. If you purchase from our (THICK) hair collection two will be enough for a natural look.
How long will my extensions look good?
The lifespan of Luxhairious extensions is determined by how well they are taken care of. Usually, our hair extensions last from 6 months (curly) to over a good year depending on how often they are worn and how well they are taken care of. Bleaching, coloring, applying heat, salt water, excessive shampooing and a careless lifestyle, of course, reduces the lifespan.
How often should I wash my Luxhairious Extensions?
Take care of your extensions as you would your own hair. Use a mild sulfate-free shampoo with natural ingredients or none at all and always condition the hair. Deep condition every third wash. You're free to use whatever you wish, but please stay away from heavy oils and silicones.
Why does virgin hair have some split ends or gray hairs?
Why don't you have a physical store?
We are online retailers who ship worldwide. Opening up physical stores would mean higher prices due to increased costs. We have chosen to keep it simple by not using expensive marketing, packaging, and web design so that you can look great without having your pockets emptied.
The hair I want is out of stock, when will it be available?
I am confused about the different hair qualities, how can I learn more?
There are different types of virgin hair. We sell double drawn and single drawn raw virgin and natural Remy hair. A lot of customers prefer single drawn in mixed lengths because of its tapered traits which are desirable if you don't want to cut your virgin hair. Learn more about the qualities HERE.
WHEN PEOPLE ORDER NATURAL HAIR EXTENSIONS FOR THE FIRST TIME THEY ARE SOMETIMES THROWN OFF BY IT'S APPEARANCE
Natural virgin hair means that it is totally unprocessed so it requires a little work to get it to your liking, but once you have it down, you really won't ever go back to anything else. Here are some dos & don'ts for taking care of your new hair:
DO reinforce the cut edges of your hair wefts with a small amount of hair or fabric glue to prevent shedding from the edges of the track. A "how to" video is found here.
DO use a wide-tooth comb to detangle hair after washing. Support the attachment of the weft with your hand when brushing to avoid pulling on your own hair.
DON'T use heavy pomades, oils or grease on your new hair. Hair is not used to heavy products and the hair shaft will start to attract dust and pollens from the environment and not behave the way it should.
DO use moisturizing conditioners to ensure that the hair lasts long. Hair has been cut from the scalps natural oils and you are in a balancing act to not strip the hair of the moisture but not add to much oil to the hair. Argan oil is our preferred choice.
DO use extreme caution when coloring the hair, although the hair at Luxhairious is virgin or carefully steamed, you'll need to gently lift the color or leave the coloring to a professional colorist.
